Terms of Service

Version 1.1 · Effective September 2026

Template for review, please have this finalised by a legal professional before you take payments.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Renvo platform and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business.

2. The Service

Renvo provides accounting, payroll, financial-statement and statutory-compliance software for South African businesses. The Service assists you in preparing and managing your financial and compliance information. You remain responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you enter and for your own tax and statutory submissions to SARS, CIPC and any other authority.

Renvo is a software tool, not a registered tax practitioner, accountant, auditor or legal adviser. Calculations, source codes, due dates and templates are provided to assist you and should be verified against the current rules before you rely on them.

3. Accounts & security

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.

4. Subscriptions & payment

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis at the price shown at checkout, in South African Rand, and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period and fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

We may change pricing on reasonable notice, with changes taking effect at your next renewal.

5. Your data

You own your data. We process it to provide the Service in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it, and you can export your data while your account is active.

If you use the Service to keep books for your own clients, you are the responsible party for that client information and we act as your operator, processing it on your instructions. The Privacy Policy sets out what that means and what we undertake to do. You remain responsible for having a lawful basis to hold your clients' information.

Documents you upload or forward are read automatically by a third-party service so their contents can be extracted. The Privacy Policy names that provider and explains the choice you have.

6. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the Service, attempt to access it in an unauthorised way, interfere with its operation, or use it to store or transmit unlawful content. You will comply with all applicable laws in your use of the Service.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance and may update or modify features from time to time.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is”. Renvo is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any tax, penalty or interest arising from your submissions. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or non-payment. On termination you may export your data for a reasonable period, after which it may be deleted.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Each version carries a number and the version you accepted is recorded against your account. Where a change materially affects your rights we will ask you to accept the new version before you continue using the Service.
